小平同志塑像高６米，基座高３．６８米，重７吨，为青铜铸造，是全国第一个由中央批准、以城市雕塑形式竖立的邓小平塑像。 塑像的造型极具动感：小平同志大步向前的姿态，象征着他朝气蓬勃的精神面貌，也象征着中国正大步迈向未来。
　　塑像坐落在莲花山，海拔１０６米，是当时规划中的城市中心区中轴线的底端，空间开阔、地势较高，塑像的面部又朝着南边香港的方向。“莲山春早”还被市民评选为“深圳八景”之一。自从小平塑像落户山顶，这里闻名中外，成了广大市民和国内外来宾缅怀一代伟人风采、登高望远、眺望深圳市中心区的最好去处，不少旅行团也将莲花山作为外地游客来到深圳的必到景区。
　　A bronze statue of Deng was erected on November 14, 2000, at the grand plaza of Lianhua Mountain Parkof Shenzhen. This statue is dedicated to Deng's role as a great planner and contributor to the development of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, starting in 1984.
