天涯海角风景区Tianya Haijiao Beach
　　 出三亚市沿海滨西行26公里，到达了马岭山下，便是“天涯海角”奇景，似乎有一种到了天地之尽头的感觉。“天涯海角”意为天之边缘、海之尽头。古时候交通闭塞，“飞鸟尚需半年程”的琼岛，人烟稀少，荒芜凄凉，是封建王朝流放“逆臣”之地。来到这里的人，来去无路。望海兴叹，故谓之“天涯海角”。宋朝名臣胡诠哀叹：“区区万里天涯路，野草若烟正断魂”。唐朝宰相李德裕用“一去一万里，千之千不还”的诗句倾吐了谪臣的际遇。这里记载着历史上谪臣贬官的悲剧人生，经历代文人墨客的题咏描绘，成为我国富有神奇色彩的著名游览胜地。
　　这里碧水蓝天一色，烟波浩渺，帆影点点，椰林婆娑，奇石林立，那刻有“天涯”、“海角”、“南天一柱”、“海判天”等巨石雄峙海滨，使整个景区如诗如画，美不胜收。据记载，“天涯”题刻，是清代雍正年间崖州知府程哲所书“南天一柱”据说是清代宣统年间崖州知府范云榜所书。“南天一柱”来历还有传说。相传很久以前，陵水黎安海域恶浪涛天，人民生活困苦。王母娘娘手下两位仙女知道后偷偷下凡，立身于南海中，为渔民指航打鱼。王母娘娘恼怒，派雷公雷母抓他们回去，二人不肯，化为双峰石，被劈为两截，一截掉早黎安附近的海中，一截飞到天涯之旁，成为今天的“南天一柱”。 
　　现在景区内还建有海水浴场、钓鱼台及海上游艇等设施，一座由现代建筑和仿古典传统园林式建筑风格相结合的“天涯购物寨”、“天涯漫游区”、“天涯画廊”、“天涯民族风情园”、“天涯历史名人雕像”等屹立在海角景区，令人目不暇接，流连忘返。附近有“点火台”、“望海阁”、“怀苏亭”和曲径通幽组成的登山多层次游览胜地。
　　It is located 26 kilometers to the west along the seashore from the Sanya city. The traffic is unenlightened in ancient days. When "the exiled treacherous official" arrived here, they did not think that it has any roads and looks towards the sea and sighed. Therefore the Chinese says it is °the end of the sky and the corner of the sea". The blue water against the blue sky, whirling coconut tree forest and a great number of wonderful stone stands enhances the beauty of the place. It has sea bathing, fishing Islands and marine yacht. There is the Tianya shopping, Tianya roaming area; Tianya decorated corridor, Tianya nationality characterisitc and style garden, Tianya history celebrity statue and so on. There are the signal fire tower, the Wanghai Pavilion and the Huaisu Pavilion that ascends the mountain road near the place.
